What do you do if you need to break a lease? Virtual Class

March 27 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Rent Smart Tenant Rights Workshops

Do you need to break your lease to escape a dangerous situation? In this webinar, discuss three situations in which you may be able to break a lease without liability, including:

1) You have experienced stalking, unlawful harassment, domestic violence or sexual assault.

2) You have been assaulted by another tenant and the other tenant was arrested.

3) Your landlord has not responded to a serious repair issue in a reasonable amount of time.

We will also discuss what to expect when breaking a lease in other circumstances.

Presented by Solid Ground Tenant Counselors. A visiting attorney from the Tenant Law Center will also be on hand to help with answering questions.

If you are currently living in King County and being threatened with eviction, contact the Housing Justice Project for legal assistance at 206.267.7069 or hjpstaff@kcba.org.

Please register. You will receive an email with a Zoom link 24 hours before the event. You can also connect to this program by telephone.
